Academic Career Development Consortium

Saturday, November 21st 2020

PhD students, New faculty, Mid-career faculty refresh are invited

The DSI 2020 Program Team has been working on re-designing the faculty and doctoral student consortia. This year, we offer a new exciting plan for Saturday, November 21st that provides a mix of common activities (morning panel, lunch and closing session) for all consortium attendees and customized PDW’s by tracks.

The consortium will open with a panel entitled “How to Navigate Your Academic Career” that will be facilitated by Wendy Tate (DSI 2020 Professional Development Chair).

The PDWs will be organised in three different “tracks”, each coordinated by a chair:

Career and Service Track: Joy Field, Boston College
Research Track: Cindy Wallin Blair, Brigham Young University
Teaching Track: Yi-Su Chen, University of Michigan at Dearborn

There will be 12 different PDWs scheduled according to tracks during the entire day. Each participant in the consortium will have the opportunity to attend three different PDWs.

A lunch will be offered to all registered participants in order to facilitate networking, and at which journal editors and deans will be invited.

While participation in the opening panel, lunch and wrap-up sessions is by prior registration to the consortium only (please email conference@decisionsciences.org), the individual PDWs are open to all DSI participants.

Please, have a look at the picture below that spells out the different activities of the consortium, and reach out to Wendy Tate (wendy.tate@utk.edu) or the consortium track chairs for information and assistance.
We hope you are as excited as we are and look forward to your participation!
