You are invited to make a presentation in the Big Data Applications Track at the 51st DSI Annual Conference in San Francisco. One of the biggest disruptors of the 21st century is the big data. An increasingly large amount of data has been captured through modern technologies using sensors, devices, video/audio, networks, transactional applications, web, and social media — much of it generated in real time and at a very large scale. Analysis of big data through advanced techniques, such as text analytics, machine learning, predictive analytics, data mining, statistics and natural language processing, allows to advance in new insights and to make better and faster decisions using data that was previously inaccessible or unusable. The capability to use big data successfully to drive prompt and precise decisions has been a critical strategic advantage for the companies; hence companies and individuals who can take advantage of this data give themselves an edge over the competition.
This purpose of this track, thus, is to explore innovative approaches and applications of big data and analytics to study problems from multidisciplinary domains focusing on methods, findings, and comparative analysis. Possible paper/presentation topics include but are not limited to:
