Social Media Analytics

The Social Media Analytics track focuses on the two driving forces for the digitization of society: Social Media and Internet of Things. Social Media creates connectedness and digitizes interactions amongst peers and businesses, and enables users to share thoughts, comments, feedback, and knowledge. Internet of Things digitizes the business processes and consumer activities by embedding sensors and internet connectivity in devices such as industrial machines, household appliances, and medical devices. Both social media and Internet of Things generate vast trails of digital data that firms collect and mine to enhance various aspects of business operations. The focus of this track is to solicit research on social media and Internet of Things and how these have emerged as transformational forces in business through the provision of micro-level data about business processes and consumer behavior.
