I joined DSI (née AIDS) early in my career. It was one of my best professional decisions. The people that I met at the meetings helped shape my ideas for research, critiqued my presentations, and encouraged me to continue my efforts. There is no doubt that their feedback improved both the quality of my research and presentations. In the addition, many of these colleagues are still among my best friends. I’m sure that the opportunities I have had to visit other universities, discuss research with known scholars, and to travel internationally were greatly enhanced by my DSI involvement. I would encourage you to become involved early and use the many resources that DSI makes available to you. – Member Since 1979
