Committees
Activating and Implementing DSI’s Mission
The Decision Sciences Institute has established a number of committees, both standing and ad hoc, that seek to carry out the Institute’s mission and vision across the globe. The committees have specific areas of attention and are composed of DSI members who volunteer their time to direct and implement committee goals and directives.
CONFERENCES COMMITTEE
The Committee shall advise the Board on policy and procedural matters concerning conferences sponsored by the Institute and assist the Board in defining the objectives and strategies to continually improve the value of the Institute’s program to its members.
FELLOWS COMMITTEE
The designation of Fellow is awarded to DSI members making significant contributions to the field of decision sciences. Fellows are nominated by members of the Institute, recommended by the Fellows Committee and elected by DSI’s Board of Directors.
FINANCIAL MATTERS COMMITTEE
Provides consultation and decision-making information to the Executive Director and Board of Directors for DSI’s financial investments.
INFORMATION MANAGEMENT COMMITTEE
Provides recommendations to the Board and the Executive Director concerning the acquisition and use of information technology, including web presence and mobile applications.
MARKETING COMMITTEE
Seeks to enhance the DSI brand, develop marketing strategies to promote DSI and encourage member involvement and investment. Co-develops creative content for the Institute’s website and other marketing outlets as needed. Develops strategies to promote DSI in alignment with the strategic plan.
MEMBER SERVICES COMMITTEE
Advises on issues relating to membership, ensures quality of membership and recommends new opportunities for member enhancement and value.
NOMINATING COMMITTEE
Provides a slate of candidates for Officers to the Board of Directors after review of potential nominees.
PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT COMMITTEE
Identifies and executes initiatives to offer professional development for DSI members at annual conferences and beyond, including content for Member Resources.
PUBLICATIONS COMMITTEE
Serves as consultant to editors of DSI publications on operational matters, defines general publication objectives and recommends specific objectives for each.
