DSJ welcomes interdisciplinary examinations of important managerial decision-making in a range of critical business areas, including Accounting, Analytics, Economics, Finance, Information Systems, International Business, Logistics, Management, Marketing, Operations, Production and the Supply Chain. There is a particular interest in Analytics as an emerging synthesis of sophisticated methodology and large data systems. Call for Papers for Special Issue - “Decisions in the Agentic Era: Toward Agent-Native Decision Science”
Artificial intelligence is entering a new era. AI systems are no longer simply responding to instructions or providing recommendations. Increasingly, they act as agents, initiating multi-step workflows, using tools, coordinating with other agents, and making decisions with meaningful autonomy in organizational and market environments. This transformation raises a fundamental question for decision science: What happens to decision-making when the decision-maker is increasingly an AI agent?
To address this question, Decision Sciences invites submissions for a special issue titled: Decisions in the Agentic Era: Toward Agent-Native Decision Science
The special issue has two complementary objectives. First, it seeks to advance rigorous understanding of how agentic AI is reshaping decisions, markets, organizations, and society. Second, it aims to develop new research practices that enable future AI agents to reconstruct, replicate, evaluate, and extend scientific research while maintaining the standards of rigorous scholarship.
